almost a foot of new snow overnight. soft conditions with 5k, 3k and Armstrong being groomed. May be anought to get other trails open in a couple days. WCS classic 10k race this morning on the 5k with soft conditions and falling snow. Travel safe, park legally and enjoy the first arrival of winter this season
5k will open to the public after the race is complete.
Prelim report: as of 6a Saturday, 1+ inch and snowing hard. Roch and Coty are working it now. Expect soft conditions all day as snow is expected to continue through the day. An updated report will be posted later this morning.

Warm before the storm. Mild temperatures today with the chance of snow?! increasing into evening and tomorrow. 3k, 5k and Armstrong still looking and skiing very well. Lou, Rob and Barry spent a great deal of time covering thin spots yesterday on the 5k in anticipation of Saturday’s snow and WCS Classic race. Please display your pass while skiing. Farm and Dog loops still waiting….
If you are coming to the race tomorrow, please plan your travel, give yourself time to park legally, enjoy the race and then clear for the next groups to arrive. All registration was on-line, bib pick up and all race activities will be outdoors, outside the shop. Please use restrooms before you leave home to help maintain health and safety when in the building.
Main, Mitten, Lollitop, Boomerang, Park Road and Kid’s cutoff all groom for skate this morning. Classic track is intact and icy in spots. Overall skiing should be good. Bare spot on the Park Road cutoff was filled in enough to ski through it. It is a lovely day to be out of the valley. Happy Trails.

Groomed most trails last evening for skate and classic. Snow will be very fast, so watch your speed- especially on New Sensation. Check in with the Nordic Center before skiing newly groomed or two-tracked trails.

WCS Classic race on Saturday relocated from Mountain Dell. Interval start, pre-registration only. Please travel smart. DO NOT park illegally on residential streets, driveways, bus stops or anywhere else. You will be ticketed and may be towed. Carpool, arrive with appropriate time to find parking, walk in, ski in, take the bus. It only takes one person to jeopardize the venue. MASKS REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES except when actively racing. No dogs are allowed on the golf course.
We are excited to have the event, but please realize the health and safety of everyone, racers, staff and volunteers is the priority.
Beautiful sunny day. Come out and ski! 3k, 5k and Armstrong are all skiing very well after the dusting Monday night. WCS race coming up Saturday on the 5k. Please plan now to carpool, take transit or ski to the Nordic Center. Parking will be limited. Do not park illegally or block roads, driveways or bus stops. PC police will be enforcing and towing if necessary.

Beautiful day on the trails. Groomed this morning for skating. Track remains firm but still very skiable with the buffing of the lane this morning. Classic tracks are in place but degraded and icy in places. Recommend skating until we get some more fresh snow to work with in order to set a classic track.

January 20th Tuesday Evening
Mt. Dell was groomed Tuesday evening for skate on Mitten, Main, Boomerang, Kid’s Cut-Off and Lolli-Top. Due to the thin snow conditions the Classic Track was not reset. Skate conditions should be Good to Fair on all of the groomed trails. It will be firm and fast with a few icy areas.
Groomed this afternoon for skate from Little Dell gate to Big Mountain Pass. There was no new snow except for maybe 1/2″ at the top. Conditions from the gate to the restroom at approximately mile 1.5 were a mix of hard as ice snow and actual ice. Descending to the gate from the restroom is extremely tricky where falls and injuries are possible. It’s the worst I have observed and skied there and not what attracts people to skiing. Advanced skiers with a tolerance for these conditions down low will be rewarded further up the route. It’s quite good from the Affleck monument to the top.
1” of new snow overnight at the trailhead and 2” of snow at Big Water. Just enough snow to cover most of the old icy hard pack snow. Great skating conditions. Classic track better above Elbow Fork
Groomed all the loops this morning, and set some classic track. A light dusting of snow helped out. We groomed a connector trail for the first time from the Lower to Upper Loop, it crosses a baseball field and goes past the pavillion. BE VERY CAREFUL ON THIS CONNECTOR! There are at least TWO ROCKS that we scraped with the groomer. We need a bit more snow until they are covered. Its very pretty today, have fun!
