White Pine

And… We are back to spring skiing. We reset classic track on the 5k and 3k yesterday late afternoon. The heat scrubbed a lot out and we set it so it would be good for today. That means a glaze on the surface will make for fast skating and classic this morning early. As the sun comes out (maybe) and it warms up (definitely), classic will soften up and get better and better as the day goes on. Afternoon temperatures will be well above freezing again. Cold and humid overnight and the track is grooming well for skate and classic. Conditions might get sticky later in the day with the humidity and warm air. The 5km, 3km and Armstrong loops will be groomed and track set today. The Farm and dog loop will be touched up afterwards. Come share the Joy of skiing!
Red or even yellow wax and structure is the call today with the higher humidity and warmer temperatures again. We are open 9-5 daily. Please continue to be careful and ski within your abilities. Please ride the bus, micro transit, carpool, skateboard, cycle, e-bike or walk if you can. Parking is available all around the hotel and underground but everything you can do to reduce single driver trips helps! Go play in the snow, make a snow angel off the trail, share the Joy and enjoy what is shaping up to be another spring skiing day!

Great News Skiers! Bandanas Cafe at the Hotel Park City across the hall from us is now open until 8pm daily for your after-ski beverages, delicious pizza and pasta. Now you can ski until sundown and then have a relaxing place to snack while you’re waiting for traffic on the highway to thin out!

If your skis are slow it’s definitely time to wax. White Pine Touring Nordic Center is a Flouro Free zone. No HF, LF or PFC waxes are allowed by county ordinance and common sense. If you have old Flouro waxes bring them in to the recycling bin in the shop and we’ll give you 25% off Flouro Free high performance replacement sprays and hard waxes. Let’s do our part to maintain drinking water quality and health.

East Canyon Hwy/SR 65 groomed for skate to the top (5.3 mi/8.5 k). Attempted reset of classic went poorly, so user-maintained track left as is, including some sections erased by recreational snowmobile traffic over the weekend.

Mountain Dell groomed Monday morning, January 22. Given the firmness of the conditions at this time only the skate lane has been reset – a second attempt will be made at resetting the classic track mid-day Monday once it has softened a bit. The existing track is still in place but is glazed. Main, Mitten, Creek, Lollipop, Wiggle Room, Boomerang, Kid’s Cutoff, and the park road bypass were all groomed.

Good Morning,

Another cloudy warm day is upon us. We have groomed both the upper and lower track for skate. The classic is still holding up well. Conditions will be soft due to the warmer temperatures, but the track is still in awesome shape. Another great day to do some Nordic Skiing!

Have a great day!

Just checked on the track after two days of warmer temperatures and some light rain off and on. Forecast is for a few more days of warm temperatures as well. The track is soft and skiing is not recommended though there is plenty of snow. I will update when conditions change for the better.

Be sure to thank our incredible groomers when you see them. Lou, Roch, Matias, Mark, and Todd have been working extremely hard to make your ski experience the best it can be. None of that track and morning groom happens by without their work. And please, if you see a stick, pinecone or willow branch on the trail, flick it off the trail.

Good Morning!
We focused this morning’s grooming on cleaning up the skate track. We did not reset the classic.
Main, Mitten, Lollipop, Kids Cutoff, Park Bypass Road, Boomerang and Wiggle Room are in great shape.
We did smooth out the Creek Loop, but its getting a little thin and icy out there – so be careful if you venture out that way.
Otherwise the skiing should be great today. Better the earlier you can hit it.

Good Morning,

Another warm ski day! With the small dusting we got last night the upper and the lower track groomed up real nice for skate. Classic lanes are holding up well on both the upper and lower track. With this warmer weather the conditions will be soft, but should be another great day to ski. Bring on the sunshine!

Have a great day!

Cloudy and warmish today with just a dusting of snow this morning. Afternoon temperatures will be above freezing again. Cold overnight and the track is grooming up great for skate and classic. Conditions might get sticky during the day with the humidity and warm air. The 5km, 3km and Armstrong loops will be groomed and track set today. The Farm and dog loop will be track set afterwards. There are a few big plow berms to navigate with the snowmobile.

Good Morning,

We groomed for skate and classic this morning and all 4.5km of trails are open on the Lower Trail!! The skate lanes groomed up nicely and the snow conditions are good. Classic lanes are set and should ski great throughout the day. The Upper Trail is open for skate and classic lane has been set. Both tracks are softer this morning as there were warmer temperatures overnight. Going to be a warm stretch the next couple days. Enjoy the skiing and hopefully some sunshine!!

Have a great weekend,
