The lower track has been groomed for skate and a classic lane is set. The upper track is groomed for skate and in great shape. Classic lane is in good condition in most areas. Tracks will soften up throughout the day due to the warmer temperatures. The bridges are holding with snow cover but narrowing on certain bridges. Have a great day and enjoy the skiing!

Its going to be a warm one… already 0C at 7:45… Trails are groomed for skate, classic track is shallow. we’ll reset as we can later in the day. Might be time to think about warm structure today. Skiing will be good early but getting slushy and soft as the day heats up. Coverage is still good and the farm, the 3k and Armstrong have been skiing great. Enjoy it while it lasts. Masks are highly recommended while indoors at the Nordic Center. Stay safe.

Our high performance and race prep clinic with US Ski Team Alum Liz Guiney is Sunday at 1. Call us to reserve one of the remaining spots. Detail online

41 degrees when we started grooming at 6pm Thursday evening. All open trails groomed for skate only with good results. Classic track is in place and is decent in some areas and poor in others. Trails currently open are Main, Mitten, Kids Cutoff, Park Bypass, Boomerang, Wiggle and Lollipop. Creek Loop and Lower are closed for now. Unusually warm for early to mid-February, so best to plan like it is March skiing. Tracks might be frighteningly firm early, ideal from about 9a to 11a, passible from 11a to 1p, and then soft soft soft. Same will hold true all weekend. Plan accordingly.

Thursday evening update and weekend planner. As of the end of daylight Thursday, all of Main, Mitten, Lollipop, Kids Cutoff, Bypass, Wiggle Room and Boomerang were still fully in play. Unusually warm for early to mid-February, so best to plan like it is March skiing. Tracks might be frighteningly firm before 9a, ideal from about 10a to noon, passible from noon to 2p, and then soft soft soft. Same will hold true all weekend. Plan accordingly.

We are in a freeze / thaw cycle which is making grooming difficult; our cold January weather has departed! No grooming since last week but the snow depth is very good and the skate lane is holding up. The classic skiing will deteriorate as the sun continues to slowly erode the tracks.
I anticipate the skating should be good mid morning til noon or so. Let it soften a bit and ski only until you are leaving light tracks. In other words, PLEASE DO NOT SKATE IN THIS WEATHER PATTERN IF YOU ARE LEAVING DEEP TRACKS.
And let’s hope for some new snow soon!

All trails with the exception of the lower below Cullen’s Cutoff groomed last night for skate. Classic was reset in most areas. Conditions are remarkably good despite the lack of fresh snow. The course will soften during the day due to the warming temperatures. Get outside and enjoy!

Full time spring continues.. Coverage is still pretty good considering we are nearly two months since the last snowfall. Very warm afternoon temperatures have been slushing up the track in sun exposed places. Expect spring conditions with cold snow in the shadows and surface melting in the sun. Skiing should be best before 3pm for sure. All trails groomed and open for your adventures. We still highly recommend wearing a mask while indoors at the Nordic Center. Help us and our families stay healthy.

repeat…. how about some new snow in 2022? Beautiful spring conditions, all trails groomed and open, classic is getting scrubbed out in places with patches of slush appearing in the afternoon. Please help us stay open and healthy by wearing your mask indoors at the nordic center. We respond poorly to hostility and warmly to you thanking us for being safe.
