Groundhog Day? The Nordic Shop is OPEN 9-5 today. We are renting skis for Bonanza Flat and snowshoes for area trails. Our snowshoe tours remain a great option for getting out! Check Mountain Trails for Bonanza conditions and access. Reports have been good. The Uintahs have good coverage but definitely ski with care and awareness given the historically low snow levels.

The ski trails remain closed and it looks like we’ll have some rising daytime temperatures until the weekend. We’ll see if the storm comes in cold this time. Cold temperatures are a definite plus.

The cart paths and grass are icy and exposed in areas so exploratory skiing is not recommended. We are still dreaming of a snowy new year. Drop in to the shop and we can fondly recall cold winters, knee deep conditions and snow bunnies hidden along the course.

Groomed the Milt’s, Practice, and Pavilion loops this morning for skate only. The is not enough snow to set classic. There is about 6″ of new snow but virtually no snow under the heavy trees. Recommend caution and removing skis in several places in trees of the north/flat side of Upper Milt’s. Also very thin under the trees where the grooming implements are kept. Skiing the south Milt’s trails back and forth would avoid the need to remove skis. Play some boogie tunes and snow dance away.

Close, but not quite. We received 2-3 inches of wet snow on top of the warm ground after the rain and sleet Saturday. Not quite enough to pack down yet. We will try to get the lesson area packed today and see where we can go from there. Cold temperatures are a definite plus. The cart paths are icy and exposed in areas so skiing is not recommended at this time. The shop is OPEN 9-5 today. None of our ski trails are currently open.

The latest “storm” underperformed again with just some snow showers but nothing to stick to the ground. Golf course is bare. Rebar trail markings ready and waiting. I will update as soon as there is something positive to report.

We skinned to the second switchback today. The 5 inches near the gate was melted to asphalt in many places where the few walkers and skiers left tracks. There is not enough snow to groom quite yet. Looking good from the bathroom up, with nearly 10 inches at the first switchbacks. We are itching to get out there and will do so ASAP!

Jeremy Ranch

Good Morning,

Winter’s long awaited arrival is here! We still need a couple more inches for the track to open, but we are getting close to opening the track for the year.

We are currently selling season passes and punch passes so come in and get set up for the season. The Nordic Golf Shop is also stocked with ski equipment from Atomic and Salomon, and Nordic Apparel from Rossignol and Odlo. We currently have a Glide into the Nordic Golf Shop Sale going on with 40% off all Nordic apperal.

Looking forward to having skiers soon.

Thanks for your support of the Jeremy Ranch Nordic Center!

Close, but not quite. We received 2-3 inches of wet snow on top of the warm ground after the rain and sleet yesterday. Not quite enough to pack down yet. As soon as there is enough snow we’ll be out there packing and rolling the base. The shop is OPEN 9-5 today. None of our ski trails are currently open and the forecast for the next several days may offer some encouragingly cold temperatures! We are still dreaming of a snowy new year. Drop in to the shop and we can fondly remember snowy winters, bluebird conditions and happy snow bunnies hidden along the course.

Solitude Nordic

Good morning. At 0800 it is 22°F with moderate to heavy snow falling. 4″ new snow overnight with more expected throughout the day. Lake Flats groomed for skate and classic, but tracks will accumulate snow quickly. Redman Loops are not groomed, but skiable with user defined classic tracks.

Soldier Hollow

We really really hope that this is the last day of having snow conditions resembling closing day not long after opening day. But have hope all ye despairing nordic skiers for we have enough manmade snow to satiate the die hards and a practice area to teach new skiers. It is thick enough for nice skis (though a bit dirty due to the recent winds and lack of refreshment) and was groomed for skate and classic today. The increasingly familiar 1.5k “loop” can be lapped the proper number of times to burn off whatever you ate for Christmas dinner yesterday. Highs will be in the 40s with rain increasingly likely by afternoon so come and get some early. Please exercise the faith or superstition or both of your choice to convince the coming storm to send some solid state precipitation.

Happy Boxing Day and Merry Winter for those who celebrate! There are some winter temperature and snow records that we do not want to continue to break.

The shop is OPEN 9-5 today. None of our ski trails are currently open and the forecast for the next several days may offer some encouragement!
