Spruces

Spruces was groomed in the early morning today with the exception of Jordan Pines. More snow is needed before we are able to groom over there and recently there just hasn’t been any. Fortunately, the forecast calls for some snow over the holidays and hopefully you’ll come back from celebrating to a groomed Jordan Pines. Today the classic still looked good and the post groomed trials even better, so get out there and enjoy the nice weather.

Soldier Hollow

Ski Trial Conditions – We have a pristine 3k lap made from our artificial snow, starting in the stadium, and going all the way up the lower Hollow, out for a length on Pony Express, and then back down and over the Bridge of Flags to a turnaround point just beyond. We are impeccably groomed for skate and classic, with set track on either side.  We have an additional 1k groomed on natural snow on the shady side of the upper hollow; be careful at the transition point between natural and artificial!

Weather and Conditions – It is currently 20F and sunny.  NWS is calling for sunny skies and a high of 54F.  Snowmaking is ongoing whenever the temperatures are below freezing.  Freezing nights are keeping the snow great in the mornings and low sun angles are keeping it from getting too soft later.

White Pine

Ski Local, Shop Local, but we did check online to see if we could get a little holiday dusting to arrive after the weekend. Fingers crossed for no shipping delays.

It should be the last of the truly warm spell today. We shoveled a ton of snow on the 3k loop yesterday to help insure we stay open through Christmas. More of that hard work today, so be sure to stop and thank the people how are working very hard to keep you skiing. You could even stop and help for that warm community feeling. Just a touch up groom this morning in order to save snow depth. The surface this morning is very good and the short period of cold overnight was helpful. The surface will be softening through the day. Best skiing will be from 9:30 to about 1 pm today on red or purple wax. If the trail is softening significantly, please switch to classic skiing. Please ski early if you are able to. We’re solidly back to snow saving mode. 3km “Community Loop” is open. The gliding will be quite good today if your skis are waxed and ready. The 5 km “Pond Loop” remains closed. Be very aware of thin spots and cart paths and big surface gaps if you venture out. The 5km side is only for the intrepid and rock skis. The penalty for catching an edge on the cart path can be significant.

Our hours are 9am to 5pm daily. You must have a trail pass purchased and displayed to access our trails. Everyone please ski filled with happiness and the Joy of being outside, greet the hardworking staff and your fellow skiers and keep an eye out for the ermine and snow bunnies. Thank you for being part of our amazing community!

We are fully stocked with everything you need for your Nordic adventures. From gear to clothes, beanies to gloves. The gift of a ski lesson is always the right size and lasts a lifetime. Stop in, say Hi and check out the store! We’ll be closing at 3pm on December 24th, Open 10-3 on Christmas day.

There are a few shovels and scoops on the 3km trail. Enjoy some cross training and toss a couple of scoops of snow on to the thin spots. You’ll be stronger, get great feeling of being part of our wonderful ski community and also help the track last longer. Even a few scoops will fill your heart and your trail with Joy and the trail with the good stuff.

‘Twas just days before Christmas and all through the land, the skiers were nervous, the forecast was bland. Our hopes remain high and the track remains white, the 3k is touched up and skiing quite nice.

Soldier Hollow

3k of skiing at soldier hollow! 2k semi loop of perfectly groomed deep manmade snow with world class classic track. 1k of natural groomed in the upper hollow. The cold nights and low sun angles mean good skiing lasts much of the day but mid morning is likely to be best. https://utaholympiclegacy.org/grooming-report-ski-conditions/

Fairview

Not a grooming report but rather a skiing report. Humble groomer has returned from New Hampshire and found the Fairview track holding up. I am not going to groom since there are some bare spots which are best left alone. Wally Chambers and I skied Tuesday (skating). The base is definitely firm. Best to ski mid to late morning after it warms a bit. Avoid mid to late afternoons during these warmer days with sun. Today I skied classic on the racks set last week. There are some great stretches for striding but also some thin spots to dance around and avoid. Top loop is not accessible due to a strecth of meltoff that is too long to get around but that leaves 80% of the trails mostly quite skiable. I will skate again Thursday.

Welcome to the unofficial Community Center of Park City. Another warm spring-like day on the trails today. Sunshine and maybe a few clouds. The surface was smoothed last night and is creamy and softening this morning. Please ski early if you are able to. We’re solidly back to snow saving mode. 3km “Community Loop” is open with classic track set. The skiing will be quite good today if your skis are waxed and ready.

This morning Spruces was getting some light snow; however, we didn’t get as much snow as we had hoped for over the weekend. Regardless the upper and lower loop have been groomed, and classic was re-set on both. Count Maxs Loop and the Nursery Medows have also been groomed, but snow is light in some places. Unfortunately, Jordan Pines will have to continue to wait for more snow before we venture that way. Fingers crossed for more snow soon, but in the meantime come out and enjoy what the small storm has provided!

Jeremy Ranch

Good Morning,

After an underwhelming storm this past weekend, our groomers attempted to groom our lower track to try and get at least 1K open. Unfortunately, there was still grass and cart path poking out in most spots. The season is in Mother Natures hands, and hope we are open soon!

We have fully transformed our Golf Shop and have all of our 2024/2025 Nordic apparel, skis, boots, poles and waxes out on the floor. Stop by to grab all of your Nordic gear for the upcoming season. Season passes, along with our 10-ski punch cards are now available for purchase. Come on in to the Nordic/Golf Shop and have a look around!!

Our Jeremy Ranch Nordic Night is just around the corner. Wednesday, January 8th we will be hosting an evening loaded with Nordic activities. Starting at 5:00pm we will have a TOKO wax clinic with Jason Travis, followed by an Atomic Product Showcase and Fittings with Sandy Brown. The evening will conclude with a Q and A with Olympian Taylor Fletcher. This will be a great way to kick off the Nordic season and get you ready for a fantastic ski year. It is complimentary to attend!! We look forward to seeing you on January 8th!!

Happy Holidays!!
