White Pine
Fresh snow overnight! a couple of inches to make things even better than yesterday! 3k, 5k and Armstrong groomed and ready for you. Be sure to have your wax ready as it warms up a little this afternoon. maybe into the red range mid-day.
Please attend the Park City Council meeting tonight either in person or online. The Thaynes Canyon parking is up for either approval or denial tonight and your support of all of our communities is much appreciated. The proposal is on the Council website, but basically calls for dedicated spaces for para-skier and 15 carpool parking spots along Thaynes Canyon Drive that will help immensely with overflow and youth programs. Our neighbor will be fighting a personal agenda against the golf course and the Nordic Center and any support you can offer will be of help. The meeting starts at 5:30, plan on arriving about 6 and we are last on the agenda with public comment accepted during the Thaynes Parking agenda item. Let’s be positive, well mannered and get this compromise in place. Thank you. If you arrive early you can also ask the council if you can still legally access the nordic center or the hotel during certain hours with the new right turn restriction signs the city put up this week.
Mountain Dell
Groomed the Main, Mitten, Lollipop, Boomerang, Kids Cutoff for skate and classic Wednesday evening while getting a bit of new snow. Skiing should be good on Thursday unless we accumulate a lot more white stuff than forecast.
Soldier Hollow
We received a surprise foot of snow Monday! Now all our trails are open, with set tracks on 3.5 km and most others rolled. See our website for more details and come for a fabulous ski on superlative conditions for this time of year!!!
Soldier Hollow
Wide trails, thick coverage, and great grooming continue at Soldier Hollow. 3.5k open and we are about to open another k or two. Pre season for season pass holders only; come pick up yours today. Free ski day and general opening on December 16.
Groomed trails are great! be cautious going off groomed trails! Those trails are rolled and are good for classic; but not skate, “Rock skis” recommended.
Mountain Dell
Mt. Dell Grooming Report. December 6, 2022
Mt. Dell was groomed Tuesday evening for Skate skiing. The track on the Mitten, Main, Lollipop, Boomerang and Kid’s Cut-Off were groomed for skate skiing. Older classic exist and is in mostly fair condition. All open trails are in good to fair condition except Kid’s Cut-Off which has some dirt and grass showing. Skating should good Wednesday. Enjoy
Fairview
Sanpete skiers, we have had several small snowfalls over the last month, including last night. There is not enough snow to begin machine grooming but there is enough to go out and make your own classic tracks. Best if you can find open areas with some old snow underneath the new.
Spruces
All of Spruces and Jordan Pines is groomed. Pretty nice conditions.
Millcreek
Groomed and set track this morning
White Pine
Cold conditions this morning. Should be great skiing! 3k, 5k and Armstrong all groomed and open. Please be patient with the Farm, it’s only December 6th. There are numerous rocks and hazards just under the snow and if we pack it people will try to ski it and get hurt. We don’t want that and you don’t want that.
Crunch time for PARKING! The proposal is on the PC Council website for daily 10am to 6pm carpool parking along Thaynes Canyon with dedicated spaces for para-athletes. It is a good compromise and serves ALL of our communities of all ages and abilities. Please offer your support to the Council vote by either showing up Thursday at council chambers at 6:15 or contact the Mayor and Council with your support. Every single skier and human powered recreationist matters to us at White Pine Touring. Your support has been tremendous and we are so close to closing the chapter on the parking saga for the winter season. Please help.
Mountain Dell
Todd and Jason groomed Monday night, cleaning up the skate lanes on Main, Mitten, Lollipop, and Park Road Bypass. Classic is thin and icy, and classic skiing might be a bit rough. Skate is predictable and coverage is mostly adequate, but rock skis are recommended, and keep your eyes open. Maybe some fresh at the weekend.
Spruces
As of 4:30 pm the upper Spruces Loops are groomed for skating only. It is nice and cold and it should set-up well for tomorrow.
Soldier Hollow
Wide trails, thick coverage, and great grooming continue at Soldier Hollow. 3.5k open and we are about to open another k or two. Pre season for season pass holders only; come pick up yours today. Free ski day and general opening on December 16.
if you go of our groomed trails be cautious, might be best to bring “rock skis.”
Mountain Dell
Jerry and Cary groomed Monday morning, combing out the light 1.5 inches that fell overnight. Fresh skate and classic on Main, Mitten, Lollipop, Boomerang and Park Road Bypass. Closed Creek. Kids Cutoff is very thin. Use caution in classic track near and under trees. In some places it is set to the grass. Rock skis still a good idea.
White Pine
2-3 inches of fresh snow after a very warm day yesterday. It should turn into nice skiing later with some clearing and moderately cold temps. 3k, 5k and Armstrong still in play with fewer leaves on the 5k now. Crunch time for parking. Council vote is Thursday approximately 6:15 is the meeting time. we are last on the agenda. Your support to reopen the spaces for carpools and para skiers would be greatly appreciated. Every space helps as does your carpooling. ski with friends, ride with friends.
