White Pine
17 degrees and some light snow on the trail this morning. Cold snow and fresh frosting on top make a great combination for your ski day. We’ll be regrooming the 3k and 5k this morning then waiting to see how the storm plays out before we do the rest. All 22km of trails are open for skiing today. Enjoy a steamy mug before you head out with your mittens, beanie and buff. We have miles of cold firm classic track and skate lanes this morning with a fresh cover on top to start your day. You’ll glide best with blue wax and iron-in cold powder again today. Grip wax will be blue today. The dog loop is open and running happily through the field (cover up those paws again today). The Farm is a fee area for skiing. No walking, dogs, running, cycling or trespassing on the trails. Park in the new Meadows Drive trailhead lot or better yet, ski the entire loop from the Nordic Center. Classic skiing will be very good today and skate will be a little slow to start it you’re not waxed, and quite good as the day goes on. A good universal liquid or paste wax on your fish scale classic skis (tip to tail) is always a good idea. Skin skis are an exceptional no-fuss classic option if hard wax isn’t your jam.
Bring your family, friends and neighbors along to play on the snow and if you need to take a mid-day “physical and/or mental therapy” break we’ve got a trail for you. Drop off your skis when you’re finished for a refreshing overnight spa treatment. Please purchase AND display your trail pass to access our trails. Take some laps with Joy, share the trail with everyone and glide smoothly along the hills and valleys! Thank you for being part of our amazing community and supporting long form trail reports. Grab that beanie, your buff, your good gloves, tighten up those laces and bindings and go play outside!

Mountain Dell
Friday morning at Mountain Dell: The skate deck was resurfaced for Main, Mitten, Boomerang, Lollipop, Bypass and Infield. The start-shoot was added from Infield to Main for Saturday’s racing contest. No changes to the classic lanes. After a bit of snow addition here and there and buffing, the trails look good. Several early morning athletes were getting after it.
The track is CLOSED TO ALL SKIERS starting at 6 PM tonight, Friday, January 24, to allow for race course prep. TUNA is hosting the Wasatch Citizens Series 10K Skate race Saturday morning, January 25. The rest of the trails are open with the classic tracks and skating holding up relatively well despite several days since the last groom. Midwinter conditions continue. Its almost a heat wave today! 17 degrees before sunrise on the trail. Cold snow and some morning sunshine make a great combination to quench your thirst for fun. Enjoy a steamy mug before you head out with your boot covers, best mittens, beanie and buff. We have miles of cold firm classic track and resurfaced corduroy this morning to start the day. You’ll glide best with green or blue wax and iron-in cold powder again today. Grip wax will be green turning to blue today. SR-65
East Canyon groomed tonight for skate and classic to Big Mountain.
Classic and skate above the restroom should be very good tomorrow.
Skate and classic from the gate is also good but gets better as you climb.
Sure am getting tired of the same old snow. A good refresh sure would be nice!!!!
Enjoy
Solitude Nordic
All trails were groomed for skate and classic on Thursday evening in anticipation of a great ski day on Friday.
Big thanks to the vehicle shop crew for fixing up our snowcat so quickly. Tusen takk!
Fairview
Fairview track was groomed for skating both yesterday and this morning. Main reason for grooming today is because of wind yesterday and some drifting. So skating should be lovely with a few narrow strips of moved snow to connect trail over previously bare spots. Classic remains hit and miss (I skied classic yesterday) and will remain that way until we get more snow.
Soldier Hollow
We continue to have similar grooming to the last few days. We hope to knock down the snow whales and get more well groomed soon! Come enjoy another sunny day before the next mini system rolls in.
Solitude Nordic
No grooming today due to a mechanical issue. Classic tracks and skate surface are still in good shape due to the cold temps. The Redman loops are a little choppy due to snow clumps falling off the trees. 0° 8:30am, high of 21° and sunny.
White Pine
It is going to be a cold but another beautiful, sunny bluebird day! Cold snow and sunshine make a great combination to quench your thirst for fun. All trails are groomed and open for skiing today. Enjoy a frothy cappuccino or other warm beverage before you head out with your boot covers, best mittens, warm beanie and buff. It was below zero overnight again and we should make it close to 25F degrees by afternoon under a bright blue sky. It took 7 hours of grooming time yesterday to clean up from the wind storm Tuesday night. Mark and Kurt had to clear hundreds of branches and knock down some serious drifts on the Farm and Dog Loop. Even the 3km trail was drifted in places. 22km of cold firm classic track and resurfaced corduroy this morning to start the day.
You’ll glide best with green or blue wax and iron-in cold powder again today. Grip wax will be green or even that tin of Polar (!) wax. The dog loop is open and running enthusiastically through the field (cover up those paws again today). The Farm is a fee area for skiing. No walking, dogs, running, cycling or trespassing on the trails. Park in the new Meadows Drive trailhead lot or better yet, ski the entire loop from the Nordic Center. Classic skiing will be very good today and skate will be squeaky slow to start, and quite good as the day goes on. A good universal liquid or paste wax on your fish scale classic skis (tip to tail) is always a good idea. Skin skis are an exceptional no-fuss classic option if green hard wax isn’t your jam.

A huge thank you to Prinoth for leasing us a shiny new Husky Snowcat to use this winter. If you enjoy what we’re providing, be sure to tell your local city officials how great it is to have such an incredible long-term community partnership between PC and White Pine Touring. We’ve been making trails on the golf course and beyond for 47 years. We’d like that to continue and your support helps more than you know.
Mountain Dell
Grooming was done Wednesday evening on all trails currently open for skate skiing. The track was resurfaced for Main, Mitten, Boomerang, Lollipop, Bypass and the infield. The classic track was reset for portions of Main, Mitten and Bypass. The trails are in good shape due to snow moving earlier in the week, cold temperatures and daily grooming.
The Mountain Dell track will be CLOSED TO ALL SKIERS starting at 6 PM on Friday, January 24, to allow for race course prep. TUNA will be hosting the Wasatch Citizens Series 10K Skate race Saturday morning, January 25. Join in on this fun race! The course will re-open for general skiing starting around noon on Saturday. Thank you.
Spruces
Cold temps and sunny skies today at Spruces. We were able to get out and groom the upper and lower loops, and Jordan Pines. For our classic track skiers – we are having some equipment issues and haven’t been able to get classic track set. We apologize for the inconvenience. In the meantime, enjoy some cold, fast, groomed snow.
