Groomed to the top for skate and classic beginning at 4:30 p.m. The skate track cleaned up nicely and was firm. The classic was good at the bottom and got better above the restroom. With only a couple of skiers on it when we left and a nice freeze tonight, the skiing tomorrow should be very good. Enjoy.

Good Morning,

We were able to groom for skate and classic on the upper and lower trails. It was another cold night which has allowed the snow conditions to remain firm and fast today. Temperatures will peak in the low 30’s this afternoon, so skiing should be great all day!! We hope everyone has a great week!

Stop by the Nordic Center to grab your season passes, 10-punch ski passes and check out our great selection of Nordic merchandise.

A beautiful sunny day coming up! Sunshine and freshly groomed trails is the forecast. Very cold overnight again, so you’ll do best with blue wax for grip and glide early today. The snow may transform mid-afternoon and get sticky and need some red or purple top coat with some structure on your bases. We’ll see lots of sun today and expect warming temperatures this afternoon. We’re grooming the 3k, 5k, Armstrong and the Dog Loop with classic and resurfaced skate lanes. The dog loop is open and running quickly through the field. The Farm is settling and should be open and groomed by the weekend. Stay tuned for opening updates. We want to make sure we have some of the natural terrain features smoothed out and firmed up before we open the Farm.

Classic skiing will be very good today and skate will also be quite good and getting better as the day goes on. A good universal liquid or paste wax on your fish scale classic skis (tip to tail) is always helpful if it gets sticky late in the day. Skin skis are an exceptional no-fuss classic option. Bring your family, friends and neighbors along to play and if you need to take a mid-day “therapy” break we’ll write you a note. Drop off your skis when you’re finished for a well deserved overnight spa treatment. Please purchase AND display your trail pass to access our trails. Please ski with Joy, share a smile, lean into the curves, glide smoothly and take a couple of laps on our beautiful winter trails! Thank you for being part of our amazing community and making it all the way to the bottom of the trail report. Now get outside and go skiing!

Main, Mitten, Boomerang and Lollipop all were groomed for skate this evening. The classic is holding up well on Main, Mitten and Boomer. Nice crunchy cold snow. It should ski really well tomorrow. THINK SNOW!

The ropes across the entry to some trails are our way of warning you that bare grass, bare pavement or some other hazard is present and that we are not currently maintaining that trail. Your choice, but if you choose to duck the rope, know that you run the risk of damage to your gear and injury to yourself.

MD groomed last Nite.
Main, Mitten, Lower to Swansons, Loli and Boomerang all set for skate.
Due to declining snow coverage, some areas of classic were eliminated. No new classic set.
Should be a nice day today at the Dell.

Today was a quick grooming day, but everything was groomed with the roller and single track. The Ginzugroomer will hopefully be ready to lay some classic track this Saturday. People were already getting out there and skiing this morning so come on out soon while the groomed track is fresh.

It is a squeaky cold 7 degrees on the trails this morning. The snow bunnies are having a second cuppa before they head out to ski. Very cold overnight again, so you’ll do best with blue wax for grip and glide all day today. We’ll see a little sun today but expect slightly warming temperatures this afternoon. We’re grooming the 3k, 5k, Armstrong and the Dog Loop with classic and resurfaced skate lanes on everything. The dog loop is open and running enthusiastically through the snow. The Farm will see more cultivation. Stay tuned for opening updates. We are letting the base settle and firm up before we open it. Thank you for your patience. We want to make sure we have some of the natural terrain smoothed out and groomed before we open the Farm.

Classic skiing will be good today and skate will also be quite good but a bit slow early on the cold track. A good universal liquid or paste wax on your fish scale classic skis (tip to tail) is always helpful. Skin skis are a very good no-fuss classic option. Bring your family, friends and neighbors along for the fun and if you need to take a mid-day “therapy” break we’ll write you a note. Please ski with Joy, breathe deeply and share our beautiful winter trails! Thank you for being part of our amazing community and being curious enough to read all the way to the end!

We still have a good selection of skate and classic skis and boots in the shop, but some sizes/models are starting to get scarce.

Fairview track was groomed Monday afternoon, skate lane only. Just a few flurries since so it should be great skating. Classic tracks were left alone as they remain nicely set. Bear in mind lower loop classic tracks especially have short thin or even bare stretches so recommend using the skate lane to bypass those. Cold temps should assure conditions remain good most of the week. Come ski; it’s getting lonely out there!

Solitude Nordic
