Good Morning,

We groomed for skate and classic this morning. We still only have 1.1 km of trails open on the Lower Trail. The groomers have begun the process of packing the remaining trails with anticipation of getting more kilometers open tomorrow. The skate lanes groomed up really nicely and the snow conditions are a bit softer. Classic lanes were reset, but are a little thin in some areas. We had about 6 inches of fresh snow the past 24 hours! We expect to see much more coming over the next few days! Please stay on the groomed trails. Thank you!!

Day passes are $5!!

Have a great day!

It is 8 degrees at 7 am. Please dress for the weather today. Another very crispy cold day. Bundle up with a buff and your good gloves! Weather is showing snow arriving again mid-day and late day with some higher winds. New mittens have been quite popular in the shop this week. Classic and skating will be adventurous when the snow comes but quite good. We received about 2 more inches of new snow overnight (9+ in 48 hours!) with some wind drifts in places. Skiing will be slow today with the track soft and the fresh snow. Skating will be good but soft and slow. Classic will be quite good all day. Come share the Joy of skiing in fresh snow! Colder temperatures mean higher performance blue wax and blue cold powders should be running well. We are open 9-5 daily. Please continue to be careful and ski within your abilities. Ski with awareness through the day and into the afternoon and keep an eye on the weather. We have 12km of skiing groomed this morning. We’ve started some trail prep work on the farm, but please stay off until it’s posted open. Please ride the bus, micro transit, carpool, skateboard, cycle, e-bike or walk if you can. Parking is available all around the hotel and underground but everything you can do to reduce single driver trips helps! We’ve groomed the 3k, 5k and Armstrong. The dog loop is open. It is frozen in the lower part. We’ve plotted out a shortened loop for the WCS Classic citizens race on Saturday. Summer uses created quite a few water challenges we need to work around. Wax cards and all of the waxes from basic to super fast are in the shop. Go play in the new snow, make a snow angel off the trail, share the Joy and enjoy the day!

The Wasatch Citizens Series 10km classic technique race at the Farm will take place on Saturday January 13th. 1km, 2km, 3km, 5km options in age groups. Registration is online at utahnordic.org Parking and bib pick up will be at St. Mary’s Church. Please carpool as much as possible and park responsibly. This and all WCS races have banned fluorinated (HF and LF) waxes. Stay tuned for trail information. Start times begin at 10:00am with kids. Adult Interval starts begin at 10:20am ~01/11/24 07:19 am

Mountain Dell

Tuesday night brought big wind (50 mph gust on course) but not big snow. John and Brian groomed Mountain Dell Wednesday morning. Skate cleaned up nicely, and might be the right call for a morning or midday outing. Still thin, so best skis not recommended. Lollipop stem and top are becoming particularly troublesome, with thin conditions and evidence of people skating through to pavement. Main and Mitten loops are the best bet until we get more coverage. More coverage is forecasted to happen Wednesday afternoon. Fingers crossed.

No new grooming today. Skate deck and classic tracks are in great shape. 13° at 8:30am, high of 23°. Looks like a big snowstorm will roll in this afternoon and stick around for several days.

Soldier Hollow

We have about 7km of beautifully groomed blown snow and hope that this next round of storms will allow us to open even more terrain ! 1-2 inches of possible accumulation today so it should be a nice day for a snowy ski.
